"Sometimes life throws you for a turn. You leave the pavement for the dirt path to find extreme ups and extreme downs. But the key is, don't jump off your bike, bitch and moan if you must, but never quit."

Michael wrote that a couple years ago. It's funny how you can be sitting here, in a melancholy mood and start reading something that makes you both very sad and yet very reassured at the same time. Michael always had a funny or thoughtful thing to say when you needed to hear it, and on the off chance he didn't, he was at least always willing to listen. It would seem that he still has that gift.

Reading hurts [Dec. 25th, 2006|02:12 am]
[Current Location |Da Basement]
[mood |groggygroggy]
[music |Kansas - Carry On Wayward Son]

I finished reading Stephen King's Cell at about midnight, after reading for about 8 hours straight. I can safely say that no muscle in my face, neck or head doesn't hurt, but it was worth it. Except for fading roses. That just made me mad, which I guess is a side effect of good storytelling, but I can't tell if I'm mad at event, or mad at the author. Hmm.

Although I was amused when I read in the book "...we think it was the cell phones..." and immediately getting a call on my cell from Kristen. Coincidence? I think not.

Oh, and I'll never think about using a cell phone the same way again.

Oh oh, Merry Christmas.

I lied [Dec. 31st, 2005|03:22 am]
[mood |aggravatedaggravated]
[music |Les Miserables]

I am going to post one more thing.

"One more day I'm on my own
One more day with him not caring
What a life I might have known
But he never saw me there..."

It's New Years [Dec. 31st, 2005|02:58 am]
[mood |tiredtired]
[music |A QUIET computer]

Well, if you were all expecting a long, detailed, intro- and retrospective long entry...you've come to the wrong place. This year had a lot of downs, and a few ups. I'm not going to list them, because most of you who read this already know them, and those of you who don't know...probably shouldn't. And besides, I know you're all probably sick of people writing stuff in their journals like "This year was blah blah blah (3 pages later) blah blah blah - Happy New Year!"

But I've got their number. I'll wait a week or so and then write my own long, rambling entry and then it won't be swallowed up in the deluge of New Year Resolution entries and other crap like that. May all our future years be better than all our previous years.

Ah, distinctly I remember, it was in the bleak December... [Nov. 21st, 2005|11:41 am]
[mood |melancholymelancholy]
[music |None]

...and each separate dying ember wrought it's ghost upon the floor.

Into the fun winter quarter! Yay! Can you see my excitement?

Monday
12:00 - 1:50 Representations of Otherness
4:00 - 5:20 Business Statistics

Tuesday
9:00 - 9:50 Beginning Conditioning
12:00 - 1:50 Managerial Accounting

Wednesday
12:00 - 1:50 Representations of Otherness
4:00 - 5:20 Business Statistics

Thursday
9:00 - 9:50 Beginning Conditioning
12:00 - 1:50 Managerial Accounting
4:00 - 5:50 Business Statistics

Friday
Nothing!

So the schedule isn't too bad, although that 4:00 class is going to be a pain. Hopefully it's easy and the prof. doesn't take attendance. That'd be pretty sweet. I'm trying to talk some people into taking Representations of Otherness with me, cause it's my last GUR (General University Requirement) and it might actually be interesting. There's still spots open if you want to join me!
